Hello

Hello there! My name is Deanna and I am delighted to have you here. As the face behind Deanna Snell Photography, I am passionate about what I do. My goal is to help your family preserve timeless images that you will cherish for years to come. I specialize in capturing your family in natural, fun settings instead of a formal studio. Our area is blessed with breathtaking beauty, and I love using it to create stunning images of your family. Working with children is my favorite, as I believe they are one of God's most precious gifts. In fact, James 1:27 says, "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."

My Story

Children are very important to me. I believe they truly are God's best gift. I have always had a heart and a passion for children. In 1994, the Lord sent me to Belarus as a missionary for 2 years. We were there to start a church and ended up starting 5. While there, I was the children's minister and instantly fell in love with these children and ministering to them. As part of that ministry, we were often in the orphanages of Belarus and my heart would break for these precious little ones. As a result, the Lord began to lay on my heart the importance of ministering and loving on orphans. "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:27

Once I returned from Belarus, I knew that I needed to do something to be able to help orphans. I was incredibly blessed to be able to work for an international adoption agency as the Foreign Program Director for 10 years. We worked placing children for adoption from Russia, Ukraine and eventually Colombia. One day, while working for the agency, I saw a photograph of 2 beautiful little girls living in Colombia, South America that needed a family. My heart leapt and I began to weep and pray. The Lord made it very clear that I was to adopt these two beautiful sisters. 4 months later, I traveled to Colombia and Alejandra (11) and Yuly (8) became my daughters. My life was totally changed and blessed forever. Wow, it all started with 1 photograph!!

A few years later, the Lord laid it on my heart to foster children in Texas. I had many foster children come through my home and loved each of them. Many of these children would arrive with nothing and none of them had pictures of their families or themselves. I think this is when I truly became interested in photography. I would take lots of pictures of these precious children and when it was time for them to move on, I always made albums with lots and lots of pictures for them to take with them. They never had to wonder what that time in their life was like again. They had pictures to look at, to show their new family or the biological family just what they were like during their time in my home.

After fostering multiple children, the Lord brought Isaac and Kaydence to me. They are bio siblings and only 11 months apart. They came to me when Isaac was 11 months old and Kaydence was 3 days old. After 17 months of fostering them, I was able to adopt them. I am so blessed.

I realized that when Isaac and Kaydie came into my home, it was the perfect time to start my business. So, in the Spring of 2013, I began my photography business and I love, love, love what I do. How blessed to be able to earn a living doing the 2 things that I love most, working with children and making beautiful images that will be cherished forever.

Hopefully, you can see from my story, just how important and precious children are to me. I absolutely love being able to make a child smile and love capturing that smile or giggle with my camera. I love watching these precious little ones interact with their family and freezing those moments in time for my clients is so special to me.

I recently moved to Tennessee from Texas. My family has fallen in love with Tennessee. We so love getting out and exploring the amazingly beautiful mountains and waterfalls of Tennessee.

The most important thing in my life, as we all navigate these unprecedented times that we live in, is my faith in Christ and knowing that no matter what comes, I can trust Him and I do not have to be afraid. I believe that He has gifted me to be a blessing to others through photography. I can't wait to talk with you and see how I can bless your family.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”   Joshua 1:9Children hold a special place in my heart.
